Indoor Hurling Rules and Regulations
Our 2024 rules are the same as they’ve been in the past at the Naperville Yard.
- Outside the lines are out of bounds and will result in a turn over.
- Ceiling is out of bounds and will result in a turn over to be puck’d out newly possessed team.
- Goals are 3 points, over the bar is 1 point. Only soft touch size 4 sliotars are to be used for indoor games.
- Substitutions can be made on the fly.
- A new player cannot enter the field until the exiting player is off the field.
- If the sliotar hits the back wall it is out of play.
- If the sliotar crosses the white line along the sides it is out of play.
- If the sliotar goes out on the side, play restarts with a sideline cut.
- The player closest to the sliotar when it goes out of play must take the sideline cut.
- If the offense hits a sliotar off the back wall, play restarts with a puck-out from the goalie. If it goes out off of the defense, a free shot shall be awarded from the front edge of the opposing semicircle.
- The goal keeper cannot score from the puck-out
- Regular hurling rules apply during play-- all USGAA rules are to be observed in accordance to USGAA hurling rules. Yellow and red cards will be in effect and enforced.
- Teams sizes will be decided prior to start of match between team captains and conveyed to referee at game time.
- The referee, which is provided by another non-playing team (preferably a captain), will be in charge of the match.
- Scores and stats are to be recorded by team not playing and turned over to team captains at the end of the game.
- Captains will report scores to team management for records to be logged.
- The first two teams playing are responsible setting up the goal uprights, prior to the start at the first match.
- The last two teams playing are responsible for breaking down the uprights and stowing them away for safe keeping until next week's play.
- The captains are ultimately responsible for set up and breakdown. Should any player fail to assist the captains they could be benched for lack of team assistance.

During the winter months our indoor league practice and games take place at Naperville Yard at 1607 Legacy Cir, Naperville, IL 60563.
